About The Position

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Receiving Inventory Supervisor to oversee the receiving department. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate receipt and disposition of merchandise and inventory within the club. Key duties include processing paperwork, verifying merchandise against purchase orders, checking for damaged products and concealed shortages, and ensuring adherence to departmental policies and procedures. The supervisor will also lead and develop team members, drive service excellence, and maintain club standards.

Requirements

• Forklift operator required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of this job.

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Prior experience working in a big box receiving environment preferred.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Familiarity with AI tools, including ChatGPT.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the receiving department, ensuring efficient operations.
• Manages the receipt and disposition of merchandise and inventory.
• Processes paperwork, verifies merchandise against purchase orders, and checks for discrepancies and damages.
• Ensures adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
• Leads, teaches, coaches, and mentors team members in the receiving/inventory control department.
• Communicates effectively with Logistics and coordinates delivery schedules.
• Completes department self-audits and daily reports accurately.
• Ensures security of receiving doors, proper check-in of visitors/vendors, and inspection of items leaving the building.
• Manages truck door assignments, ensures driver safety during unloading, and secures trucks on the dock.
• Verifies seal integrity of all trucks, including DC loads and frozen/dairy shipments.
• Monitors DC loads, secures high shrink merchandise, and ensures it is removed from the dock daily.
• Confirms and processes incoming and outgoing Direct Store Delivery (DSD) quantities.
• Executes merchandise protection on designated items and validates paperwork for merchandise leaving the back doors.
• Operates the compactor and cardboard baler, ensuring equipment is secured when not in use.
• Maintains all club policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
