About The Position

We are hiring immediately for a full time SHIFT SUPERVISOR (RECEIVING) position. This role involves directing the activities of associates during a specific shift and overseeing the completion of assigned job expectations while maintaining policy and procedure. The supervisor is responsible for supervising the unloading, receiving, inspection, and proper storage of all inbound shipments, verifying incoming products against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices, and ensuring all deliveries are received, documented, and processed accurately and in a timely manner. The role also includes coordinating dock schedules, maintaining clean and organized receiving areas, inspecting and documenting temperatures of refrigerated and frozen products, identifying and rejecting unsafe products, and monitoring operations for compliance with quality control, food safety, sanitation, and company procedures.

Requirements

  • Previous shipping, receiving, and supervisory experience required.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the unloading, receiving, inspection, and proper storage of all inbound shipments.
  • Verify incoming products against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure all deliveries are received, documented, and processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate dock schedules, delivery windows, and receiving priorities to maintain an efficient flow of incoming products.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe receiving docks, coolers, freezers, and storage areas in accordance with established standards.
  • Inspect and document temperatures of refrigerated and frozen products upon receipt to ensure compliance with food safety requirements.
  • Identify and reject damaged, expired, contaminated, improperly stored, or otherwise unsafe products.
  • Monitor receiving operations for compliance with quality control, food safety, sanitation, and company procedures, addressing issues as needed.
  • Provide training and create work schedules.
  • Evaluate the performance of workers, reward high performers and discipline employees who fail to meet reasonable standards of work performance.
  • Prepare production or sales reports for management and ensure their unit meets the expectations for quality, productivity and safety.
  • Act as the contact person for employees with complaints or requests for time off.
  • May act as a mentor, develop employees and encourage workers to set goals and strive for advancement within the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
