About The Position

The Shipping/Receiving Clerk supports Mattr’s operational excellence through daily execution of shipping and receiving activities. Working on the shop floor, the role supports safe operations, DSG shipping targets, timely movement of incoming goods, and coordination of product transportation and delivery. The position also supports continuous improvement, maintains the work area using 5S principles, and operates equipment safely and effectively. As required, the clerk trains new or junior employees, emphasizing safe, efficient, quality-minded work.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least three years of practical warehouse experience executing shipping and receiving activities efficiently and safely.
Knowledge of road and rail transportation rules and regulations, including weight distribution and height restrictions.
Strong sense of urgency and a good quality track record.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to work in an environment frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, with moderate-to-high noise levels.

Nice To Haves

Formal HSE or SMS training.
Post-secondary education, or awaiting accreditation.

Responsibilities

Provide daily support and oversight of Shipping/Receiving operations while adhering to Mattr HSE policies and supporting IIF status.
Help achieve monthly DSG shipping targets.
Receive goods and ensure their timely distribution to the accounting department.
Identify quality-related issues and respond promptly to prevent or minimize missed performance targets.
Schedule carriers to customers in a timely manner and ensure compliance with policies and procedures for product transit and delivery.
Communicate with internal and external customers to address specific customer requests.
Prepare daily documentation, including BOLs, customs documentation, and ocean freight documentation.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain the work area using 5S principles.
Operate equipment safely and effectively.
As required, train new and/or junior employees with an emphasis on safe, efficient, quality-minded work.
