About The Position

The Receiver supports Earth Fare’s mission of helping people live healthy lives by helping ensure products are received, stored, and distributed efficiently and safely. The role checks in vendors, warehouse trucks, and common carriers according to departmental procedures; coordinates product flow in the back room; and maintains a clean, secure, and organized receiving area. The Receiver also supports the Grocery Department as needed and helps provide customers with a fulfilling store experience.

Requirements

• Strong organization and multi-tasking skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to direct people positively and professionally.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel.
• Ability to learn and use a hand-held computer scanner.
• Attention to detail and proficiency in math.
• Ability to use a hand-operated pallet jack.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; items over 50 pounds should be lifted with help from another team member.
• Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and squat.
• Ability to push, pull, and maneuver heavy loads.
• Ability to stand and be on one’s feet for most of the workday.

Nice To Haves

• Food safety knowledge and warehouse experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check in store vendors, warehouse trucks, and common carriers according to the department’s Standard Operating Procedures.
• Document shortages, discrepancies, damages, and miss-picked items to ensure proper credits to departments and the store.
• Coordinate product flow in the back room and maintain efficient receiving, storage, and distribution processes.
• Maintain a safe and secure work environment.
• Oversee the recycling program and shopping cart use and storage.
• Maintain back-door security related to products and people.
• Keep the back room clean and store products properly.
• Organize paperwork and maintain communications with vendors and team members.
• Support the Grocery Department with various tasks as needed.
