About The Position

Halperns’ Steak & Seafood is hiring a Receiver (Forklift Operator) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The role receives, logs, and issues materials to a stockroom, warehouse, or designated location. The starting pay is $17 per hour, and the schedule is 8:00 a.m. to finish.

Requirements

Read, write, and communicate in English.
Work independently or within a team environment.
Immediately perceive auditory warning signals, including bells, alarms, and horns, used to warn of equipment movement, start-up, mechanical abnormalities, and similar risks in warehouse operations.
Ability to operate powered industrial vehicle (PIV) equipment.
Understand the basic functions of a radio-frequency handheld computer.
Forklift certification must be obtained upon hire and maintained during employment.
Provide the most recent employment experience for the application to be considered complete.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Check goods received against bills of lading or purchase orders.
Inspect goods for damage and expiration dates.
Identify and account for histamine products (seafood only).
Sort, count, and check received items.
Maintain required clerical records.
Operate warehouse equipment as needed to move goods to storage areas and place them in designated locations.
Identify damaged packaging and possible cross-contaminated product.
Perform returns.
Maintain and rotate the cooler and freezer (USDA only).
Perform inventory control (USDA only).
Perform other duties as assigned.
