Rebate & Incentive Sales Manager

Utilities One•Voorhees, NJ

About The Position

Energy5 provides end-to-end EV charging infrastructure solutions, including strategic planning, engineering, construction, deployment, and long-term operations. The Rebate & Incentive Sales Manager generates new revenue by identifying commercial customers, partners, and project owners who could benefit from rebate, grant, utility incentive, and funding-management capabilities. This is a dedicated sales role focused on prospecting, developing, qualifying, and closing opportunities where incentives can improve project economics or customers need help identifying, securing, and managing available funding. The manager works with Energy5’s Funding, Sales, Partnerships, Estimating, and Operations teams, while retaining primary responsibility for business development and revenue generation. The role requires translating complex incentive programs into clear commercial value: explaining who may qualify, the financial impact, required actions, and how Energy5 can manage the process. Opportunities may involve standalone rebate management or larger turnkey infrastructure projects where incentives help establish a broader customer relationship.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in B2B sales, business development, energy services, incentives, infrastructure, sustainability, or another consultative commercial environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently prospect, develop, and close new business.
  • Ability to translate complex financial or technical information into clear customer value.
  • Experience conducting discovery conversations, identifying business needs, managing objections, and advancing opportunities through a structured sales process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to sell to business owners, executives, property managers, developers, and other commercial decision-makers.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems such as Salesforce, including pipeline management, activity tracking, forecasting, and opportunity management.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple active customers, programs, deadlines, and follow-up requirements.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with technical, operational, financial, and administrative teams.
  • Self-directed approach and comfort working in a high-growth environment where market conditions and funding programs change frequently.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, qualify, develop, and close commercial customers seeking assistance with EV charging rebates, utility incentives, grants, make-ready programs, and related funding opportunities.
  • Translate active and upcoming incentive programs into targeted business-development campaigns based on geography, customer type, property profile, equipment eligibility, project timing, and available funding.
  • Build relationships with commercial property owners, fleets, developers, CPOs, OEMs, consultants, contractors, utilities, municipalities, and other potential sources of recurring rebate-management opportunities.
  • Explain customer eligibility, potential incentive value, application requirements, timing, construction dependencies, documentation, reimbursement structures, and how Energy5 can reduce the administrative burden of securing funding.
  • Assess project viability, decision-making authority, timing, capital availability, and the realistic ability to meet program requirements before committing significant internal resources.
  • Explain the financial implications of programs that provide funding or approval before construction versus those that reimburse customers after completion.
  • Identify when funding discussions can expand into engineering, equipment, construction, commissioning, financing, or other Energy5 services, and coordinate the appropriate internal handoff.
  • Manage opportunities in Salesforce from prospecting through close, keeping deal value, stage, next step, probability, expected close date, and revenue forecast accurate.
  • Coordinate with Energy5’s rebate and funding specialists on program interpretation, application development, documentation, and execution while maintaining ownership of the customer relationship and commercial process.
  • Monitor new and changing utility, state, federal, municipal, and other incentive programs and identify resulting sales opportunities.
