About The Position

The State Highway Administration's (SHA) Office of Real Estate (ORE) is currently recruiting for a Real Property Manager position. This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies in this classification. The main purpose of this position is to manage a district office or an acquisition right-of-way office in Headquarters and assist the District Engineer and the Director of the Office of Real Estate (ORE). The management duties of this position include organizing and scheduling people and resources needed to acquire SHA right-of-way on multiple projects, on time, and within budget. These activities are carried out in accordance with applicable law and regulations. This position coordinates real estate activities with the Project Planning Division, Highway Design Division, Plats and Surveys Section, Office of Finance, Office of Counsel, Headquarters Office of Real Estate personnel, other divisions in district offices and consultants. The acquisition of right-of-way necessitates frequent communications with the general public and elected officials.

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Eight (8) years of experience in providing real estate services.
  • Two (2) years of this experience must have involved supervising other employees and/or consultant staff functioning as Real Property Specialists or managing real estate projects or reviewing appraisals.
  • Possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.
