About The Position

A nationally recognized AmLaw 100 firm is seeking a Real Estate Associate Attorney to join its Chicago office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing developers, institutional investors, private equity sponsors, lenders, borrowers, REITs, landlords, and tenants in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions.

Requirements

3–6 years of commercial real estate transactional experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
Illinois bar admission or ability to become admitted
Strong drafting, negotiation, analytical, and client counseling skills
Excellent academic credentials

Nice To Haves

Experience with commercial leasing, construction, or real estate joint ventures

Responsibilities

Handling commercial real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development projects, and financings
Representing developers, institutional investors, private equity funds, lenders, borrowers, landlords, tenants, and real estate owners
Drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements, loan documents, leases, easements, operating agreements, joint venture agreements, and other real estate transaction documents
Conducting title, survey, zoning, environmental, and other real estate due diligence
Managing complex real estate closings and coordinating multidisciplinary transaction teams
Engaging in significant client interaction and taking on early responsibility
Managing sophisticated transactions independently
