About The Position

Tutors at the Tutoring and Academic Support Center (TASC) are San Francisco State University students who support students across all majors in developing reading, writing, oral communication, and academic study skills. Tutors provide support throughout the semester through scheduled one-on-one appointments and drop-in sessions, both in person and online. TASC tutors are peer educators and campus leaders. Training is paid and includes weekly Friday sessions from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. facilitated by TASC faculty, a mandatory all-staff workshop on the Friday before the semester starts, and asynchronous training on additional topics. Training is mandatory and begins in the first week of classes; new tutors begin tutoring in week three.
