About The Position

Lithia & Driveway is hiring a React Native Engineer to help build MyDriveway’s customer-facing mobile experience for iOS and Android. The role involves turning existing web experiences into intuitive mobile interactions and developing features that support customers throughout vehicle ownership. The engineer will work with the Founding Mobile Architect and cross-functional agile teams to deliver and evolve the growing mobile platform. The position is remote and follows West Coast hours.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of software development experience, including at least 2 years building applications in React Native.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript, React Hooks, and modern component architecture.
• Experience with Expo and modern mobile development workflows.
• Familiarity with state management tools such as Redux Toolkit or Zustand.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and working with tools such as Axios or React Query.
• Ability to build responsive layouts and create user experiences across phones and tablets.
• High school graduate or equivalent; must be 18 years or older.
• Must be able to meet the requirements of a drug-free workplace.

Responsibilities

• Build and deliver responsive mobile features using React Native, TypeScript, and Expo Router.
• Transform existing MyDriveway web experiences into seamless native mobile interactions.
• Integrate mobile applications with Azure-based APIs and enterprise platforms to support customer journeys.
• Implement scalable state management solutions and efficient client-side data handling.
• Troubleshoot cross-platform challenges, optimize performance, and ensure consistent experiences across iOS and Android devices.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, QA Engineers, and fellow developers in an agile, sprint-based environment.
• Contribute to the growth and evolution of mobile engineering practices as the platform expands.
