About The Position

Total responsibility for the safe, quality, and efficient operation of a press and banding tool. This role involves building boxes, making tags, performing basic operations at a work cell, packing and securing parts, procuring batches, assembling packaging material, setting weight scales, inspecting parts for quality, and cleaning the work area. The associate must maintain a clean and safe work area following 5S standards and understand job-related Quality Objectives, Quality System Policies, Procedures, and Instructions. Failure to perform these activities may result in dissatisfaction to the internal/external customer. The role also includes following established instructions and quality standards, ensuring the safety of self and team, proper set up of dies, ensuring correct packaging and piece-counts, performing first/last hit inspections, and accurately reporting production quantities into the MRP (AX) system.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production and quality recording, procedure manuals and manufacturing work instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Build boxes, paper skids and support any dunnage activities as needed.
  • Make tags (Router/WIP – Inventory).
  • Perform basic operations at work cell.
  • Pack and secure parts in pack station using banding tools.
  • Procure batches as needed and follow priority schedule.
  • Assemble packaging material as necessary.
  • Set weight scales for parts counting as needed.
  • Inspect and perform quality checks of parts being packed, as necessary.
  • Mop and clean work area as needed.
  • Maintains work area in a clean and safe condition, following 5S standards.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of all job-related Quality Objectives, Quality System Policies, Procedures, and Instructions.
  • Follow established instructions and quality standards.
  • Responsible for the safety of self, team and product from damage and/or injury.
  • Proper set up of dies following current standardized set-up instructions.
  • Insures correct packaging and piece-counts on skids/containers.
  • Proper first/last hit inspections of parts; communicate that the die is ready for the next set or need for repair to the Engineering Manager.
  • Perform accurate reporting of production quantities into MRP (AX) system.
