As a RCMP Casual, you will be assigned various duties to support the Detachment's operations which may include but are not limited to typing statements related to victimization, crisis and trauma or triaging, responding to and processing inquiries and complaints received in-person, by email and over the phone or radio as the key point of contact between the Detachment and the public and others. RCMP Clerks are computer savvy and can navigate RCMP information systems and databases (eg. CPIC, PRIME) and paper-based systems. In this role, you will perform tasks involving data entry or database searches, and the creation and maintenance of police files and records. You will also meet with the public and others to conduct police information checks and vulnerable sector checks or take fingerprints using the Livescan system as other related duties. Casual employees are scheduled on an as-needed basis to relieve employees who are on leaves, vacation, or during peak periods of increased workload; there are no regularly scheduled hours or guarantee of hours. For new hires, and for those working in designated positions of trust, including those working directly with vulnerable persons, employment is conditional on a satisfactory police information check.
