The Rare Disease Key Account Manager (KAM) works to reduce time to diagnosis, increase appropriate patient identification, and improve speed to treatment by partnering with stakeholders in targeted accounts across therapeutic areas served by Amgen’s Rare Disease products. The role addresses operational and access challenges affecting appropriate therapies across assigned health systems, specialty clinics, infusion centers, and other sites of care. The KAM diagnoses account-level barriers and executes targeted strategies to enable access to therapy, strengthen clinic readiness, optimize buy-and-bill operations, and support a reliable patient and customer experience throughout the rare disease treatment journey. The position develops account plans aligned with customer priorities and Amgen portfolio objectives, leads assigned account contracting opportunities, evaluates buy-and-bill workflows, and coordinates account initiatives with cross-functional partners. It monitors account performance, maintains account plans and records in required systems, and shares actionable field insights. The role requires approximately 40–60% travel within an assigned geography for customer meetings, internal planning, and industry events.
