About The Position

ELS is hiring a part-time Ranger in Palm Desert, California. The Campground Ranger patrols campground grounds, answers guest questions, enforces resort rules, and helps ensure the safety of guests and their belongings. The role requires calmly handling stressful situations and responding appropriately under local, state, and federal law. Duties also include property monitoring and security, gate access checks, routine patrols and inspections, reservations and check-in/check-out, and selling day passes and store items. The Ranger prioritizes guest safety and satisfaction and provides on-call emergency service as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills, and the ability to use computer applications.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to assess situations, use quick and reasonable judgment, and resolve problems diplomatically.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills, and a friendly demeanor.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in security and/or law enforcement, and/or in an RV environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the property for issues or potential problems.
• Ensure the property is properly secured.
• Ensure guests comply with resort rules, respond to concerns, and contact law enforcement when necessary.
• Monitor incoming guests at the campground gate and validate whether access is permitted.
• Perform routine patrols and inspect golf carts and rentals.
• Take camping reservations, check guests in and out, and sell day passes and store items.
• Prioritize guest safety and happiness.
• Perform on-call emergency service as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
