Part Time Ranger
About The Position
ELS is hiring a Part Time Ranger in Palm Desert, California. The Campground Ranger monitors and patrols campground grounds, answers guest questions, enforces resort rules, and helps protect the safety of guests and their belongings. The role calls for calm, appropriate responses to stressful situations and sound judgment in accordance with local, state, and federal law. The Ranger monitors property conditions and access, conducts routine patrols and inspections, and assists with reservations, guest check-in and check-out, day-pass sales, and store sales. The position also prioritizes guest safety and satisfaction, provides on-call emergency service as required, and performs other assigned duties.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills, and the ability to use computer applications.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to assess situations, use quick and reasonable judgment, and resolve problems diplomatically.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in security and/or law enforcement, and/or working in an RV environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the property for issues or potential problems and ensure it is properly secured.
- Ensure guests comply with resort rules, respond to areas of concern, and contact law enforcement if necessary.
- Monitor incoming guests at the campground gate and validate whether access is acceptable.
- Perform routine patrols and golf cart and rental inspections.
- Take camping reservations, check guests in and out, and sell day passes and items at the store.
- Prioritize guest safety and happiness.
- Perform on-call emergency service as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
