About The Position

ELS is hiring a Campground Ranger in Jamul, California. The role involves walking or patrolling campground grounds, answering questions, enforcing rules, and helping protect the safety of guests and their belongings. The Ranger should be able to handle stressful situations calmly and respond appropriately with regard to local, state, and federal law. The position also involves monitoring and securing the property, managing campground access, carrying out routine patrols and inspections, handling reservations and guest check-ins and check-outs, and selling day passes and store items. The Ranger prioritizes guest safety and satisfaction and provides on-call emergency service as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic reading, writing, and math skills and the ability to use computer applications.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to assess situations, exercise quick and reasonable judgment, and resolve problems diplomatically.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and current auto insurance.
Ability to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in security and/or law enforcement, and/or working in an RV environment.

Responsibilities

Monitor the property for issues or potential problems.
Ensure the property is properly secured.
Ensure guests comply with resort rules, respond to areas of concern, and contact law enforcement if necessary.
Monitor incoming guests at the campground gate and validate whether access is acceptable.
Perform routine patrols and inspect golf carts and rentals.
Take camping reservations, check guests in and out, and sell day passes and store items.
Prioritize guest safety and happiness.
Perform on-call emergency service as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
