This position will be on site at our facility located near Cottonwood, ID. We are seeking a reliable, hardworking Ranch Hand to support the daily operations of our ranch. This role involves hands-on “cowboy work” and is ideal for individuals—or a husband-and-wife team—who enjoy working outdoors, are experienced with cattle, and take pride in maintaining land, livestock, and equipment. This position offers the opportunity for long-term growth, with potential to transition into a Ranch Manager role based on performance and leadership capability.

Requirements

Previous ranching, farming, or cattle experience strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions
Working knowledge of livestock handling and basic animal health practices
Experience operating ranch equipment and performing basic mechanical tasks is a plus
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Candidates must provide their own horse(s); however, the ranch will provide boarding accommodations and cover routine upkeep costs for the horses
Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions.
Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed.
Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for livestock, with a primary focus on cattle, including feeding, watering, and monitoring overall health
Perform routine cattle work such as gathering, moving, sorting, branding, and medicating livestock
Assist with herd management activities, including seasonal work such as calving
Maintain and repair fences, gates, corrals, barns, and other ranch infrastructure
Operate ranch vehicles and equipment (e.g., trucks, tractors, ATVs) safely and efficiently
Observe and report signs of injury, illness, or distress in livestock
Perform general ranch upkeep, including grounds maintenance, facility repairs, and cleaning as needed
Follow all ranch safety protocols and operational procedures
