About The Position

The Ramp Lead Agent leads and directs employees involved in ramp operations, providing training and instruction to ensure quality work. The role reads and interprets load sheets, loads and unloads aircraft according to customer instructions, operates all equipment, and performs some staff duties. It is a working manager role: the lead works alongside and assists ramp agents in performing their duties.

Requirements

• Some leadership experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Good communication skills.
• At least 1 year of experience in the field.
• Ability to work in inclement weather.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent health and safety awareness.
• Ability to lift heavy objects weighing up to 70 pounds (32 kilograms).

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct ramp agents and assist them in performing their duties.
• Train and instruct employees to ensure quality work.
• Read and interpret load sheets and load or unload aircraft according to customer instructions and applicable customer, Swissport, and FAA guidelines.
• Operate all equipment and perform some staff duties.
• Protect customer and Swissport assets during operations.
• Ensure staff maintain an appropriate professional image.
• Maintain a disciplined work environment in accordance with company rules and regulations.
• Manage the baggage make-up process according to airline specifications.
