About The Position

The Ramp Agent is responsible for loading and unloading luggage, freight, and cargo on and off commercial aircraft, and working in the outbound bag room and baggage claim area. The role also includes safely and efficiently cleaning aircraft cabins and driving and operating small specialized commercial vehicles. The position requires frequent heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, and kneeling in small, confined spaces. The Ramp Agent must maintain a safe and secure work environment in accordance with local health, safety, and security policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Possess and maintain a valid US driver's license.
• Have a high school diploma or GED, or six months of prior ramp agent work experience.
• Be comfortable repeatedly lifting 70 pounds.
• Pass an FBI background check and obtain a US Customs Seal.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload luggage, freight, and cargo on and off commercial aircraft and transport it between aircraft, airport terminals, and air cargo facilities.
• Work in the outbound bag room and baggage claim area.
• Clean aircraft cabins safely and efficiently.
• Operate motorized equipment and small specialized commercial vehicles.
• Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
• Conduct physical searches of empty aircraft interiors and accessible exteriors to detect prohibited articles and unlawful interference that could jeopardize aircraft security.
• Take reasonable care of personal and others' health, safety, and wellbeing and follow workplace health and safety rules and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
