About The Position

The Air Cargo Ramp Agent loads and unloads cargo on and off aircraft and transports cargo between terminals and aircraft. The role requires awareness of staff, security contractors, and visitors, and reporting security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan. The agent must comply with the WFS site security plan for the assigned warehouse. This job is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to communicate successfully with others.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo weighing up to 70 lbs. in and out of aircraft, including within confined cargo areas; push, pull, and position loaded containers weighing up to 3,200 lbs. on rollers to or with aircraft.
• Transport cargo to and from aircraft using a 3,000 lb. vehicle, navigating congested areas with attached carts, and read off-load sheets to determine cargo destinations.
• Use appropriate ground-to-cockpit communication, including hand signals and voice commands, during aircraft push-out and/or towing functions, with or without visual aids.
• Receive, deliver, and physically handle freight and company material, including export freight at designated express docks.
• Complete forms and messages necessary to perform assigned functions.
• Confront and question unauthorized personnel in secured areas and report their presence to authorities as necessary.
• Remain aware of WFS staff, security contractors, and visitors’ activities; report security breaches, suspicious occurrences, or non-compliance with the site security plan to managers or through the WFS whistleblower program.
• Comply with the WFS site security plan for the assigned warehouse.
• Report to work on a regular and timely basis.
