About The Position

The Ramp Agent supports baggage handling operations to help provide a safe, efficient, and seamless airport experience. The role involves handling and sorting baggage, processing operational data and documentation, performing area hazard checks, and carrying out headset duties, including communication with the flight deck, in accordance with relevant training. The Ramp Agent must follow company policies and procedures and help maintain high standards of safety, security, efficiency, and teamwork. A flexible schedule is required. The role also includes transporting cargo and baggage between aircraft, airport terminals, and air cargo facilities, and interpreting aircraft loading and routing information.

Requirements

Comfortably and continuously lift or move 70 pounds of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft.
Must have a flexible schedule.
Follow workplace health and safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

Manually or mechanically load and off-load baggage in accordance with relevant training.
Gather, enter, and process operational data and documentation using manual, automated, or computerized systems, including weather reporting.
Perform baggage sortation duties safely and efficiently.
Carry out area hazard checks.
Perform headset duties, including communication with the flight deck, in accordance with relevant training.
Transport cargo and baggage between aircraft, airport terminals, and air cargo facilities.
Read and interpret aircraft weight and balance loading instructions, hazardous material identification labels, aircraft loading manifests, and baggage and cargo routing tags.
Help ensure safe and secure operations in accordance with health, safety, security, and government statutory requirements.
Take reasonable care of personal and others' health, safety, and wellbeing at work.
Perform other duties as assigned.
