About The Position

The Radiology Technologist is a certified health professional who, under the direction of an authorized user, applies diagnostic imaging skills and knowledge through the safe and effective use of ionizing radiation in diagnostic radiology. The technologist serves patients across the lifespan, from neonates through geriatrics, and performs radiographic procedures using imaging equipment and related accessories. The role includes obtaining and documenting patient histories and appropriate laboratory information; preparing, positioning, and immobilizing patients; applying radiation protection principles; evaluating image quality; documenting radiation dose exposures; and completing required consent and procedure records. The technologist also assists licensed practitioners with fluoroscopic and specialized radiography procedures, administers prescribed medications or contrast when appropriate, and communicates orders and patient information through the medical record. This is a PRN, as-needed position. The work may involve fluctuating workloads, interruptions, exposure to infectious materials or other limited hazards, and travel by car to off-site locations.
