About The Position

As a Radiologic Technologist (Diagnostic, X-Ray Tech), you will perform imaging procedures independently, demonstrating proficiency in various technical tasks related to diagnostic radiography. This role involves accurately identifying patients using two identifiers, adhering to universal protocols, reviewing patient history, and assessing physician orders according to departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition. You will document patient history in electronic records, administer oral (PO) and rectal contrast as per physician orders and department policies, and ensure proper coding and tracking of exams using the RIS system. Additionally, you will network all exams to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, enter charges appropriately, and operate complex imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, manipulate, and document image data. The position requires effective interaction with patients and co-workers, demonstrating empathy, respect, and active listening, and collaborating as a team member to expedite patient care. You will also adjust protocols based on independent judgment to apply ionizing radiation appropriately and clearly communicate instructions to patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date
  • ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Must obtain radiography registry within 6 months of hire date
  • CPR or BLS Required
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • ARRT Certificate
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Responsibilities

  • Accurately identify patients using two identifiers and adhere to universal protocols during procedures
  • Review patient history and assess physician orders, following departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition
  • Document patient history in electronic records as required
  • Administer oral (PO) and rectal contrast as per physician orders and department policies
  • Ensure proper coding and tracking of exams within your area of responsibility using the RIS system
  • Network all exams to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and enter charges appropriately
  • Perform diagnostic radiography procedures using established protocols without constant supervision
  • Operate complex imaging equipment, acquire, analyze, manipulate, and document image data according to protocol
  • Interact effectively with patients and co-workers, demonstrating empathy, respect, and active listening
  • Collaborate as a team member within the department and across other departments to expedite patient care
  • Adjust protocols based on independent judgment to apply ionizing radiation appropriately
  • Clearly communicate instructions to patients, allaying fears and ensuring cooperation during procedures
