About The Position

This is a full-time night position with special weekend options at Bloomington Hospital. The shift is Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 7pm-7am. The role involves operating various imaging equipment, preparing and monitoring patients during exams, collaborating with medical professionals, ensuring radiation safety, and documenting patient information. The technologist will also assist with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

Requirements

0-3 years of relevant experience.
Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible).
If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Responsibilities

Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery.
Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly.
Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging.
Follows radiation safety protocols.
Documents detailed patient history.
Stays current with continuing education.
Monitors patients during exam for safety.
Documents necessary information in EMR.
Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
