About The Position

This is a full-time, benefitted position at the Senate Street Surgery Center location in Indianapolis, IN. This position will be scheduled 7:00a-3:30p and will also be expected to float to other Beltway Surgical Centers throughout Indy when case coverage is needed. The technologist will be responsible for running C-Arms for surgical specialties such as Orthopedics, Pain Management, Urology, and Spine procedures, and will act as a liaison between the OR Teams and Imaging Services. Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible).
  • If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Responsibilities

  • Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery.
  • Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging.
  • Follows radiation safety protocols.
  • Documents detailed patient history.
  • Stays current with continuing education.
  • Monitors patients during exam for safety.
  • Documents necessary information in EMR.
  • Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
  • Running C-Arms for surgical specialties such as Orthopedics, Pain Management, Urology, and Spine procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between the OR Teams and Imaging Services.
  • Float to other Beltway Surgical Centers throughout Indy when case coverage is needed.
