About The Position

This full-time night position, with special weekend options, is located at Bloomington Hospital. The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist operates various imaging equipment, including x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Key responsibilities include patient preparation, collaboration with medical professionals, adherence to radiation safety protocols, detailed patient history documentation, continuous education, patient monitoring during exams, EMR documentation, and assisting with minimally invasive procedures. Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible).
  • If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Responsibilities

  • Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery.
  • Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging.
  • Follows radiation safety protocols.
  • Documents detailed patient history.
  • Stays current with continuing education.
  • Monitors patients during exam for safety.
  • Documents necessary information in EMR.
  • Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
