About The Position

Under the direction of a Physician, the Radiology Technician performs radiographic examinations. The role assesses patients, assists the Physician with fluoroscopic procedures, prepares films for interpretation, and maintains patient and departmental records, supplies, and equipment. The position is part of a physician office team focused on patient-centered care.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program.
• ARRT certification or registry eligibility; ARRT certification must be obtained within one year after graduation.
• AHA BLS certification.
• State license if required.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree preferred.
• One to three years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and assist the Physician in performing fluoroscopic procedures.
• Prepare films for interpretation and maintain patient and departmental records, supplies, and equipment.
• Verify Physician orders.
• Warm the x-ray machine according to standard protocols, check for malfunctions, and notify the supervisor of issues.
• Use proper exposure factors and perform radiographic examinations according to established protocols.
• Process radiographs.
• Protect patient privacy by keeping the x-ray room door closed except when moving patients into or out of the room.
• Establish, follow, and maintain a workflow program.
• Establish and enforce a system component maintenance schedule for cleaning and service.
• Troubleshoot system errors and respond to end-user questions and service requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Understand the role in National Patient Safety Goals.
