About The Position

The Radiology Technician II performs diagnostic imaging procedures according to department protocols and serves as a primary point of contact for customers, helping meet their imaging needs. The role participates in quality improvement and quality control activities, supports the Performance Improvement Program, and may oversee the radiology area or staff when the Manager or Director is absent. The technician maintains supplies and equipment for assigned subdepartments, supports teamwork and customer service, schedules procedures for assigned subdepartments, and processes and transmits images to PACS.

Requirements

• State-required licensure and fluoroscopy permit.
• Appropriate national certifications in two modalities, required effective July 1, 2017.
• Current BCLS (AHA).
• Familiarity with state and federal regulations.
• Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of acute clinical radiography experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic, CT, mammography, bone density, ultrasound, or special procedures according to department protocols.
• Serve as the first-line interface with customers and help accomplish their imaging needs.
• Participate in PI/QC activities and assist in maintaining the Performance Improvement Program.
• Oversee the radiology area and/or staff in the Manager's or Director's absence.
• Maintain department supplies.
• Promote teamwork and good customer service.
• Schedule for assigned subdepartments and maintain their supplies and equipment.
• Process and transmit images to PACS.
