About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Radiology Technician. The role involves performing various technical tasks using large and mini C-arm X-ray equipment to create radiographs as specified by a physician. Responsibilities include adjusting equipment for proper exposure, preparing and setting up medical supplies, positioning patients, monitoring accessory equipment, assisting physicians with fluoroscopic examinations, processing film, and using PACS to send exams for interpretation. The technician will also maintain logs, report findings, and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Requirements

  • Competency in orthopedic radiology and operating room Radiology.
  • Ability to file and log OR x-rays and keep C-Arm logs updated.
  • Skill in reporting system of radiology findings to physician.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Ability to utilize "down time" to perform other assigned tasks, including room turnovers, restocking warmer, specialty carts, etc.
  • Ability to perform a variety of technical tasks involved in large and mini c-arm x ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body as specified by physician.
  • Ability to adjust equipment for proper exposure, voltage and current in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  • Ability to determine, prepare and set up medical supplies, instruments and equipment.
  • Ability to position patients for each anatomical view specified using immobilization and protective devices as required.
  • Ability to monitor accessory equipment and assist attending physician with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
  • Ability to record amount and type of film exposed.
  • Ability to label film with identifying information.
  • Ability to process film in accordance with standardized procedures.
  • Ability to maintain assigned work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Ability to use PACs to send exams for interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Determine, prepare, and set up medical supplies, instruments, and equipment.
  • Position patients for each anatomical view using immobilization and protective devices.
  • Report any changes in patient condition to attending medical staff.
  • Monitor accessory equipment and assist the attending physician with fluoroscopic examinations and special radiographic studies.
  • Record the amount and type of film exposed and label film with identifying information.
  • Consult with center leadership and radiologist to ensure compliance with established quality standards.
  • Process film in accordance with standardized procedures.
  • Maintain the assigned work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Use PACS to send exams for interpretation.
