Requirements

  • Graduate of a program in discipline.
  • AART within 6 months.
  • BCLS within 90 days if hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
  • Reviews patient history and physician’s order.
  • Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient’s understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice as ordered.
  • Monitor patient condition and respond to changes as appropriate.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies, select exposure factors and imaging parameters, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment; troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports malfunctions as necessary.
  • Position patient and perform imaging procedures.
  • Analyzes results, identifies quality issues, and takes corrective action including repositioning or repeating procedures.
  • Enter, transmit, and report scan results accurately.
  • Provide direct support in meeting departmental service levels.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provide quality patient care and work flexible shifts/unit as needed.
