About The Position

Holston Medical Group, part of the Optum family of businesses, is a multispecialty clinic serving northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia. The Radiology Tech independently produces high-quality radiographs for medical diagnostic purposes while promoting high patient satisfaction. The role sets up and operates X-ray equipment and positions patients to produce diagnostic images in conjunction with radiologists. The position may cover various locations as needed.

Requirements

• Two to five years of radiologic technologist experience.
• Thorough knowledge of medical imaging procedures and equipment, including proper technique and positioning, handling and administering ionizing radiation, radiographic anatomy and physiology, and medical terminology.
• Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Required Tennessee State X-Ray License.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of radiation safety techniques, including collimation, radiation monitoring, and protection through time, distance, and shielding.
• Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.

Nice To Haves

• Operational knowledge of computerized/digital radiography.
• PACS operating knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiology procedures.
• Educate patients and others about procedures and related information, as reflected in documentation and feedback.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure necessary supplies are present and ready.
• Maintain records of patients treated, examinations performed, views taken, and settings used.
• Properly power up equipment and use warming techniques.
• Maneuver radiology equipment.
• Work at other offices occasionally when requested based on Holston Medical Group's business needs.
