About The Position
As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions. Every day you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction. To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED
- Education level necessary to obtain required licensure and certifications
- Medical Radiographer: CA Fluoroscopy Radiology Tech: CA
- One of the following: Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, Registered Technologist Bone Densitometry, Registered Technologist Computed Tomography, Registered Technologist Cardio Interventional Radiography, Registered Technologist Mammography, Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Registered Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology, Registered Technologist Quality Management, Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy, Registered Technologist Vascualr Inteventional Rad, Registered Technologist Vascular Sonography
- Current BLS through American Heart Association (AHA BLS)
- Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical and technical personnel.
- Ability to read, write and speak English

Responsibilities
- Perform quality procedures and radiographs using the appropriate department routine.
- Perform all examinations using all the general radiographic equipment including portables and OR radiographic equipment.
- Select and use proper immobilization and supportive devices when necessary.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the different views associated with each exam.
- Use the correct markers and label all films correctly.
- Mark and label exams correctly.
- Ensure initials are on all images.
- Make sure all exams display the patient name.
- Prepare the room, equipment and supplies as dictated by the particular examination or patient need.
- Ensure room assignment is stocked and cleaned by end of shift.
- Call for service if equipment is down and unable to reach Supervisor.
- Inform Supervisor when getting low on a particular supply.
- Verify correct patient using two patient identifiers.
- Follow standard patient identifier of name and date of birth.
- Evaluate patient condition to see if they are capable of answering questions necessary for proper identification.
- Involve patient family members when needed for proper identification.
- Demonstrate awareness of radiation safety for patients, self and co-workers.
- Not exceed radiation exposure limit for calendar year as stated in Title 17.
- Demonstrate on images that correct shielding was used on the patients.
- Check the Radiation Film Badge report.
- Exhibit and demonstrate good communication skills with patients, family members, co-workers and hospital staff.
- Ensure patient or family member understands procedure.
- Adopt AIDET program to ensure quality patient care.
- Ensure images reflect ability to compensate for age of the patient.
