About The Position

Garden City Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Radiology Tech II to perform imaging services in a community-focused, state-of-the-art teaching hospital. The hospital has more than 300 licensed beds and provides medical education to students, residents, and fellows.

The position performs diagnostic radiography and assigned imaging modalities according to department protocols, supports patients’ imaging needs, and contributes to quality and performance-improvement activities. It may oversee the radiology area or staff in the absence of managers or directors, and includes scheduling, supply and equipment maintenance, and processing and transmission of images to PACS.

Requirements

• Hold a state-required license and fluoroscopy permit, as applicable.
• Meet the stated national certification and modality requirements: appropriate national certifications in two modalities; or certification in one modality plus bone density duties, IR special procedures, unregistered CT duties, or Student Coordinator responsibilities.
• Hold current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Be familiar with state and federal regulations.
• Have proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• One year of acute clinical radiography experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic, CT, mammography, bone density, ultrasound, or special procedures according to department protocols.
• Serve as a first-line interface with customers and meet their imaging needs.
• Participate in PI/QC activities and assist in maintaining the Performance Improvement Program.
• Oversee the radiology area and/or staff in the absence of managers or directors.
• Maintain department supplies.
• Promote teamwork and good customer service.
• Schedule for assigned subdepartments and maintain their supplies and equipment.
• Process and transmit images to PACS.
