About The Position

The Radiology Tech I conducts diagnostic imaging procedures, operating imaging equipment to capture images of patients’ internal structures for diagnostic purposes. The role supports healthcare providers by producing high-quality images that assist in diagnosing medical conditions and developing treatment plans. The posting describes preparing patients for MRI scans, operating MRI scanners, following MRI safety protocols, monitoring patients during scans, administering contrast agents, and checking MRI equipment quality.

Requirements

Licensure and fluoroscopy permit as required by the state.
ARRT-R certification.
Familiarity with state and federal regulations.
Current BCLS (AHA) certification.
Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience as a Radiology Technologist is preferred.

Responsibilities

Explain MRI procedures to patients, address questions and concerns, and help ensure their comfort.
Screen patients for MRI contraindications, including metal implants or pacemakers.
Position patients and operate MRI scanners, selecting imaging parameters to obtain clear, accurate images.
Follow safety protocols related to MRI technology and strong magnetic fields.
Monitor patients’ vital signs during scans and adjust imaging parameters as needed; perform imaging sequences to capture different views or tissue contrasts.
Administer intravenous contrast agents when needed, monitor for adverse reactions, and provide appropriate care.
Perform routine quality assurance checks on MRI equipment to support optimal performance and image quality.
