About The Position

Horizon Health is a Critical Access, Rural Health Facility with 25 inpatient beds in Paris, Illinois, and outpatient Family Practice and Specialty Clinic locations in Paris and surrounding communities. The facility has served Edgar County since 1968 and provides community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. The Radiology Tech Dual Specialty is registered in at least two modalities among X-ray, Fluoroscopy, CT, Mammography, MRI, and portable testing equipment. The position conducts radiology testing as ordered by physicians and works to ensure patient safety, exam quality, confidentiality, and infection control. The schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with rotating call coverage, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

High school graduation or equivalent.
Completion of a formal radiologic technology training program at an approved school.
Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
State of Illinois licensure through the Department of Nuclear Safety or IEMA.
BLS/CPR certification.
Registration in at least two modalities among X-ray, Fluoroscopy, CT, Mammography, MRI, and/or portable testing equipment.

Responsibilities

Conduct requested testing in the Radiology department according to physician orders.
Obtain the patient's clinical history before beginning an exam.
Demonstrate competency in collimation, positioning, and techniques.
Evaluate radiographs for technical quality before delivering them to the radiologist.
Monitor the film badge and follow up on monthly exposure-level results.
Use a range of machines and procedures for radiology testing.
Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, and families.
Protect the confidentiality of patient orders and records and use discretion when discussing patient health.
Practice universal controls and maintain cleanliness and infection control.
Be available for call coverage, rotating shifts, and disaster call-back.
Support the hospital's goals and objectives through other activities as required.
