Radiology Medical Assistant
About The Position
The medical assistant performs assigned direct and indirect care tasks in an ambulatory setting to meet patient needs, under the direct supervision of a physician for medical acts or an assigned supervisor. As a member of the health care team, the medical assistant accepts appropriate delegation from an RN or physician to help meet the needs of patients and families. Tasks are performed in accordance with the patient care plan, organizational policies and procedures, and principles of relationship-based care. The medical assistant carries out designated activities limited by law to unlicensed health care personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Computer proficiency, including prior experience with electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to work daytime hours; flexibility may be required to meet staffing needs.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) is required.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
