Radiology Medical Assistant
About The Position
The Radiology Medical Assistant performs assigned direct and indirect care tasks in an ambulatory setting to meet patients’ care needs. The role works under the direct supervision of a physician for medical acts or an assigned supervisor, and participates as a member of the healthcare team, accepting appropriate delegation from an RN or physician to meet patient and family needs. Tasks are performed according to the patient care plan, organizational policies and procedures, and relationship-based care principles. The assistant carries out designated activities within the functions legally permitted for unlicensed healthcare personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant diploma or associate degree program.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Computer proficiency, including prior experience with electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to work daytime hours, with flexibility as needed to meet staffing needs.
- Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations in the work setting.
- Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA), registration (RMA), or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
Responsibilities
