About The Position

The Radiology Clerk performs technical and clerical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative while assisting radiologic technologists with basic departmental functions and goals. The role supports radiology operations through timely completion of assignments, professional interactions, order entry, scheduling, telephone communication, film filing, and knowledge of department procedures and facility codes. The position is PRN at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.

Responsibilities

• Complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate professional behavior and etiquette when interacting with physicians, managers, coworkers, and patients.
• Complete physicians’ orders accurately in Meditech and maintain computer-related knowledge.
• Use the telephone system appropriately, including proper telephone etiquette and call transfers.
• Schedule patients.
• Perform film file duties accurately.
• Communicate appropriately.
• Promote a positive image of the Radiology department.
• Know how to call and respond to facility codes.
• Know the location and use of Valley Regional Medical Center policy and procedure manuals and MSDS sheets.
