Radiology Assistant
About The Position
The Radiology Assistant shall serve as a supportive member of the patient care team who assists in routine and non-complex aspects of patient care and other duties to support the operations of the unit. The Assistant is responsible for facilitating the efficient operation of the assigned modality through demonstration of consistent organizational and communication skills. Additionally, this position shall assist Technologists, Physicians, RNs, and LPNs in the patient care process. The Assistant will work in collaboration with registration. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduate from a certified Nursing Assistant Program or a Health Occupations Program (HOSA) or completion of first clinical rotation as a Nursing student (completion of ‘Nursing Fundamentals' course) or 1 year of experience in a patient care role in an acute care, nursing home, imaging center, or home care setting required.
- BLS required
- Knowledge of body mechanics and basic safety, principles of physical care and comfort.
- Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to foster a cooperative work environment
Nice To Haves
- Medical terminology training preferred.
