About The Position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health, the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in over 25 years, opened in April. It integrates clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and an Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, creating a robust network of care for all District residents, especially those in Wards 7 and 8. The advanced hospital features 136 beds (expandable to 184), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery services, an ambulatory pavilion for outpatient services, an onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad. The hospital is seeking a full-time Radiology Assistant. This role involves working under the Imaging Manager to assist the team with taking medical histories, positioning patients for exams, coordinating patient flow with nursing units, transporting patients, and ensuring safety standards are met. The Radiology Technical Aide will also be responsible for registering patients at the front desk, handling phone calls and facsimiles, and maintaining equipment, exam rooms, and work areas to ensure safe conditions, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Demonstrates knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory bodies, e.g. The Joint Commission and American College of Radiology (ACR) guidelines
  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of prior experience in a medical environment
