About The Position

This role involves assisting licensed X-Ray Technologists with various tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Radiology Department. The assistant will be responsible for patient preparation, room turnover, equipment transport, and maintaining safety protocols. This position offers an opportunity for growth, with candidates awaiting their Radiology Board examination encouraged to apply, and a path to becoming a licensed X-Ray Technologist.

Requirements

• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced clinical environment
• Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and transport equipment
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Willingness to learn and transition into a licensed technologist role

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program preferred
• Candidates awaiting Radiology Board examination strongly encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed X‑Ray Technologists with patient positioning and preparation for imaging procedures
• Escort patients to and from the Radiology Department and ensure patient comfort and safety
• Prepare imaging rooms, including setting up supplies and cleaning equipment between exams
• Transport portable X‑Ray equipment as directed
• Perform non‑technical tasks related to imaging workflow (room turnover and stocking supplies)
• Observe radiation safety and infection‑control protocols at all times
• Communicate clearly with technologists, nurses, physicians, and support staff
• Maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned by departmental leadership
