About The Position

Transports patients and patient related items throughout the facility in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. Rotates throughout the different modalities within Radiology providing assistance to the Radiologists and Technologists in exams and procedures. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Communicates professionally with all staff, patients and visitors throughout the campus. Functions independently and as a team member, frequently with direction via telephone. Maintains an orderly, well organized work area and keeps supplies and equipment readily available while ensuring proper storage of all supplies and equipment in the work unit. This position requires full use of arms, hands, repetitive foot motion, reaching above your head, and trunk rotation/twist. Position requires continuous movement and walking. Performs miscellaneous job related duties as assigned, assists in invasive and non-invasive procedures, including the removal of IV’s, preparation of sterile trays, safe handling, transferring and transporting of specimens when needed. Works varied hours which may include days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or G.E.D Equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, telephone and human relation skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to unpredictable situations.
  • Ability to complete Mayo Clinic's New Employee Orientation and General Systems Training.
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and lift more than 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Physically able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time.
  • Requires upper and lower physical strength to manage pushing and pulling of stretchers.

  • Previous hospital, clinical, or patient care experience.
