About The Position

Our site in Franklin, MA is seeking a R&D Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be 6 months in duration. In this role, you will support the development and characterization of advanced adsorbent materials used in filtration, purification, and chemical separation applications. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in material characterization, adsorption testing, product development, and laboratory-scale experimentation while working closely with experienced scientists and engineers.

Requirements

• Pursuing Bachelors’ or Masters’ in Chemical Engineering or Material Science/Engineering.
• Strong laboratory and data analysis skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and scientific data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be a currently enrolled student.
• Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June.
• Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program.

Responsibilities

• Characterize adsorbent materials and help develop a database for the lab.
• Conduct adsorption capacity studies for various chemicals and contaminants, including sample preparation, experimentation, and documentation.
• Support the development and optimization of new adsorbent media through experimental design, testing, and performance assessment.
• Collaborate with R&D teams on product development activities, technical reporting, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining safe laboratory practices.
