About The Position

Entegris is seeking a highly motivated R&D Co-op to support membrane development initiatives within the Membrane R&D Group. The co-op will contribute to research and development activities related to membrane surface modification and characterization. This role offers hands-on experience in a dynamic industrial R&D environment and provides opportunities to work closely with scientists and engineers on innovative product development projects.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
  • Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program
  • Ability to work in a laboratory environment and wear required PPE.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine laboratory activities.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to safely handle chemicals and operate laboratory equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior laboratory experience through coursework, research, or previous internships/co-ops is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with data analysis and statistical tools is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document and present technical findings clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate the performance, properties, and functionality of surface-modified membrane prototypes.
  • Support membrane surface modification and processing studies to optimize product performance, robustness, and manufacturability.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret experimental results to support data-driven technical decisions and project recommendations.
  • Collaborate with R&D scientists and engineers to design experiments and troubleshoot technical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate and organized documentation of experimental procedures, data, and technical findings in accordance with R&D best practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to lab safety, laboratory methods, testing capabilities, and development processes.
  • Adhere to all Entegris safety policies, laboratory protocols, and standard operating procedures to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
