This position conducts experimental research to establish enzyme-based processes for small-molecule pharmaceuticals and promotes process development in collaboration with research teams in Japan, customers, and external resources. The role involves planning, conducting, and reporting experimental research, including enzyme screening, enzyme-based process development, enzyme engineering via genetic engineering, development of cultivation methods using genetically modified microorganisms, development of analytical methods, scale-up studies using external resources, and evaluation of new enzyme-related technologies. The scientist will collaborate with internal R&D personnel, customer-facing staff, experimental equipment suppliers, raw material suppliers, and external technical service providers. Additionally, this role provides technical support for production as needed, conducts research on R&D projects including regulatory requirements and scientific literature, and explores new enzyme-related technologies. The position also involves promoting technical capabilities through customer and conference presentations, supporting sales with technical advice, and collaborating with R&D, Sales, and Marketing teams based on customer feedback. Emotional intelligence skills such as empathy, a positive attitude, excellent communication, flexibility, adaptability, and interpersonal skills are essential. Other responsibilities include maintaining open communication, keeping the supervisor informed, staying updated on professional knowledge and industry trends, maintaining professional conduct and ethical standards, fulfilling training requirements, and performing other duties as assigned.
