About The Position

The B&R Operator B is an experienced utilities operator responsible for the safe and reliable operation, monitoring, and intermediate maintenance of industrial boiler, refrigeration (ammonia), and compressed air systems during overnight operations. This role works independently with minimal supervision, troubleshooting routine system issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, RMP, and PSM standards. The Operator B collaborates with maintenance personnel during repairs, start-ups, and shutdowns, and provides mentorship to lower-level operators while helping ensure continuous, safe plant operations on D shift nights. Pay and level are negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Position Summary The Level B Boiler & Refrigeration Mechanic is an experienced utilities technician responsible for independently operating, monitoring, and performing intermediate maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial boiler or ammonia refrigeration systems. This level demonstrates strong technical competence, the ability to resolve most routine system issues, and the ability to mentor lower-level operators. A B&R Operator B may be assigned to Boiler Operations or Refrigeration Operations, with increasing expectations of cross-training. Operators at this level support system reliability, assist in equipment repairs requiring moderate technical skill, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, RMP, and PSM standards.
