About The Position

We are seeking a Chemical Operator to work in the Dispersions & Pigments (ED) business unit as part of our Monaca, PA manufacturing site. You will become part of a team of operators who are responsible for meeting daily production requirements to support customer needs. You will be expected to work safely, following both verbal and written work instructions and procedures as well. Come create chemistry with us!

Requirements

  • Process Technology degree plus 1-2 years of industrial/chemical/manufacturing or steel experience OR High School diploma/GED plus 3-5 years of industrial/chemical/manufacturing or steel experience
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, stand for extended periods of time, work indoors & outdoors and transfer product with the use of mobile equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks)
  • Must be able to work in confined space, hot work, LOTO, follow operating procedures
  • Must have basic proficiency with Microsoft Office Products - Outlook, Excel & Word
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
  • Familiarity with safety practices and techniques related to the chemical industry (LOTO, confined space entry, hot work, etc.)
  • Flexibility on working additional hours
  • Experience with forklift operation is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Successfully conduct routine inspections and monitor equipment such as pumps, storage tanks, instrumentation, utilities, safety equipment, tools, etc.
  • Responsible for preparing equipment for operation, maintenance, cleaning and troubleshooting any equipment problems.
  • Use working knowledge of the mechanics and operations of different types of process equipment (pumps, valves, agitators, instrumentation, controls, etc.)
  • Transfer, monitor and control raw material and product flows.
  • Handle and transfer materials for bulk storage tanks, tote bins, drums, bags etc. to adjust and make products.
  • Take product samples for quality control testing.
  • Support and participate in site ISO, OSHA PSM, RMP, and RCMS programs.
