Chemical Operators will be responsible for managing building operations, including multiple processing units and product families. Responsibilities include reactor operations, packaging product, loading / unloading bulk trucks and raw material handling. In this role, you will: Maintain total compliance to all health, safety, environmental and quality requirements of the department. Ensure safe operations by observing all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE&S) procedures. Understand the general concepts of ISO-9001. Serve on the Facility Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Fire Brigade and participate in a minimum of 40 hours of annual mandatory training for the first 5 years of employment. Ensure safe operations by observing all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE&S) procedures. Handling of all raw materials – including heated raw materials, hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals (e.g. acrylates, isocyanates). Follow charge sheets and batch instructions to produce high quality products using Delta V control system and manual operations. Sample finished goods and in process material as required. Run in-process QC tests as required. Safely unload bulk and packaged raw materials as needed to support building operations. Handle finished product packaging. This consists of label making, filling totes, drumming product in 30- or 50-gallon drums, filling 5- or 7-gallon pails, assembling pails, and bulk loading of tank trucks. Palletizing, wrapping, and shipping of hazardous and non-hazardous products. Diagnose process and equipment problems/make minor repairs or suggest work orders. Work with maintenance to perform calibrations, and LO/TO of equipment as needed. Perform housekeeping in process area on regular basis to ensure a safe operation and meet cGMP standards and best practices. Accurate administrative record keeping such as shift logs or spreadsheets, startup checklists, waste logs, status logs and production reporting. Perform SAP transactions as required, including production reporting and inventory look up. Successfully complete initial and annual refresher training to maintain certification.

Requirements

  • High School graduate from an accredited school or equivalent GED.
  • Successfully pass assessment tests and be in good standing.
  • Reliable attendance records and willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work with limited supervision is a must.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with other shifts and day staff.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and to manipulate 500 lb. drums with drum carts and mechanical aids.
  • Experience and or ability to operate fork truck and hand cart.
  • Ability and willingness to serve on the Facility Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Fire Brigade and participate in a minimum of 40 hours of annual mandatory training for at least the first 5 years of employment.
  • Ability to be trained on SAP to a high level of accuracy for data entry.
