About The Position

The Chemical Operator is responsible for maintaining safety, plant production, operating efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role involves hands-on interaction with plant equipment such as pumps, pipes, valves, and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to prepare and charge materials into the manufacturing batch process. Key duties also include operating a forklift for loading, unloading, and transporting materials, as well as performing basic lab testing. The operator is expected to manage inventory by counting and reporting daily and assisting with monthly counts, and to follow and perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures for equipment maintenance. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment and accurate record-keeping (batch sheets, lab data, shift turnover documents) are also essential. The operator is encouraged to recommend improvements to production methods and equipment and assist in troubleshooting problems. Requirements

  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to climb steps, stairs, and ladders on a repetitive basis
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations necessary for position’s essential duties
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Reliable transportation for attendance required
  • Dependability and Punctuality are key ingredients to be successful in this position

Responsibilities

  • Folows and perform lock out tag out (LOTO) for maintenance work on equipment
  • Maintain work area in a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Maintain accurate records including batch sheets, lab data entries, and shift turnover documents
  • Recommends methods to improve production methods and equipment
  • Assists others in troubleshooting problems
  • Performs other duties as assigned
