The Chemical Operator is responsible for maintaining safety, plant production, operating efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role involves hands-on interaction with plant equipment such as pumps, pipes, valves, and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs) to prepare and charge materials into the manufacturing batch process. Key duties also include operating a forklift for loading, unloading, and transporting materials, as well as performing basic lab testing. The operator is expected to manage inventory by counting and reporting daily and assisting with monthly counts, and to follow and perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures for equipment maintenance. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment and accurate record-keeping (batch sheets, lab data, shift turnover documents) are also essential. The operator is encouraged to recommend improvements to production methods and equipment and assist in troubleshooting problems.
