About The Position

A lube technician will maintain, inspect, and repair vehicles within the service bay. Provide accurate information to the service manager, technicians, and/or service advisors, concerning vehicles that are processed through the company for business purposes. Requirements

  • Work experience within the related lube technician duties; 1+ years’ experience as an automotive lube technician preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge in the area automotive lube technician skills
  • Understand the importance of and maintain confidentiality
  • Understand and follow work rules, policies, and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
  • Perform multi-point inspections by completing the appropriate paperwork required per dealership requirements
  • Conduct appropriate recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of customer vehicles.
  • Advise and communicate with service advisors on additional work the vehicle may need. Follow up with appropriate parties to ensure customer needs are meet
  • Ensure air pressure of tires are met based on vehicles standards and requirements, install caps
  • Drain oil from crankcase and refill with required amount of oil based on manufactory requirements
  • Add water to radiator and battery as needed
  • Replace oil and air filters per repair order
  • Balance and rotate tires per repair order, torque every lug bolt
  • Follow company safety procedures- avoid exposure to fumes, dirt, and harsh chemicals
  • Provide excellent customer service keeping in mind that our customer’s perspective comes first
  • Keep shop clean such as – empty trash, sweep and mop floors, empty used oil containers
  • Communicate with parts department and service advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
  • Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repairs, if authorized by the customer.
  • Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order. Fully complete inspection sheet.
  • Maintain an inventory of normal technician's tools not normally inventoried by the service department as special tools.
  • Keep aware of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
  • Road-test vehicles to ensure quality work as needed.
  • Deliver vehicle to carwash area when repairs are completed
  • Comply with company safety policies and procedures
  • Assist senior techs as needed to speed workflow and assist with service drive flow/lot organization as needed.
  • Efficient and accurate work in accordance with dealerships and factory standards
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques
  • Conduct business in an ethical and professional manner
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Maintain professional appearance in accordance with the employee handbook
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and clean shop area
  • Expected to arrive to work on time and work required shift
  • Follow instructions from supervisor
  • Interact effectively with co-workers
  • Receive feedback from supervisor on job related tasks in positive manner
